I used to be a BIG brother.

Now, I am just a brother. (or as mum says, a "brudda.")

Barley dog has gone and graduated herself from little sistah to big ass sistah. (Ok, so she's not even a lb heavier but its fun to tease her. Mum says if I had my hair it would be even. I disagree.)

But it is AWESOME being here and playing with my sister. Yes, we're related. We're from the same litter. Can you believe it!?

She's almost as spoiled as I am, but since Becca-boo lives with her, they have to split the spoils with her. I love Becca too - she's fun. But we're having a blst. Mum says we have to go home today, though. bummer. Barley says "Hello, Baxter fans. You have an associate membership automatically to the Barley Fan club. We're not as active, but we can be as fun. So if you're in the Chicago area, drop by and give me a treat! Hugs and kisses! Barley dawg."

Its gettin' hot in here...

After pantin' alot this weekend in the heat at the barn, I let mum shave me again. I was a super good dog about it.

And she stayed home today. She spent most of the day on the sofa with an ice pack on her head. It was awesome to have mum home. And guess what - she actually TURNED ON THE AIR CONDITIONING!!! sweet.

Now, back to the interloper - take a look at this behemoth. Psycho actually scratched my nose! It bled! It was horrible. So from now on, I warn mum when ever she's around. Mum is not appreciative of this, but I take my job very seriously.

Yeah, she's a big ole black cat. But check the fang out. I made mum get a picture of it. It is seriously evil.

So, here we are. Me on the floor, she's chilling on the sofa. I think it is gonna be a long summer.

Stay cool, fan club members!

We interrupt this blog...

It would seem that Baxter dawg was correct when he predicted the trials, stress, and basic chaos that would result from introducing Psycho kitty back into the Ark.

While Psycho is content to hiss and puff up at the interference of my own cats, Malley and Tink, Baxter dog has been promoted to a whole new level of hostility.

Apparently Psycho likes morning scritches. Baxter dawg likes them all day long, but is especially fresh in the AM. this has resulted in World War Three at the house, and I am forced to post this as the two of them are cornered somewhere in the house shreeking, hissing, swatting and basically going through the actions that will eventually determine who wins Extreme Alpha Pet of the Year.

Seriously, Psycho goes out of her way to corner the B-dawg.

And B-dawg can't just let the hiss and swat go - he's got to defend himself.

Pray for me. And B-dawg. Psycho outweighs him by 10 lbs and has wicked claws. This could get muy ugly before its all settled.

(don't worry B-dawg fan club - I am taking all precautions. He is currently safe at home in his crate where he can hide from the evil Psycho Kitty.)

Horse Showin' in Raleigh

I wasn't too sure about this, but then I realized...

Finally, a horse that does something for the B-dawg.

Most Excellent!

That's right, pony! MUSH MUSH! Take me places!!!

Hey Mum - can I try the whip? No? Ok. GO FASTER, I like the wind in my hair, ya know.

The evilest of felines nears...

Mum has informed me that we will be "hosting" Psycho Kitty tomorrow. She is Nana and Grandpa's cat. She is so snarky that everyone but the verternary calls her Psycho. The vet person calls her Pandora. But he knows she's crazy too.

I met her last summer. She was not easily swayed by the cuteness that is the B-dawg. She will be here ALL summer. bummer.

She is bossy, and demands lap time, and must sleep with Mum. She does not like me, and unlike the other felines that I have trained, she does not run away when I assert my B-dawgness.

Even Malley Cat is not looking forward to the "transition period."

Malley sez, "I, being the fabulous Thomas O'Malley, am not intimidated by the Black Feline known as Psycho. She, like all others, have and will again, worship me. But its going to be unpleasant for Tinkerbell. Poor thing."

MY hommie in Chi-Town

Get this - I wanna meet this guy when we got to Chicago in a few weeks:
(from cnn.com)

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- For one day, at least, the roadrunner was safe. It seems the coyote was hankering for another kind of fast food.

Employees and customers at a downtown Chicago Quiznos sandwich shop were stunned to see a coyote walk through the propped-open front door Tuesday afternoon and lie down in a cooler stocked with fruit juice and soda.

"It wasn't aggressive at all," restaurant manager Bina Patel told the Chicago Tribune. "It was just looking around."

Employees and customers calmly cleared out of the restaurant, though some took the time to finish their sandwiches and snap some cell-phone photos, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Animal control officers took the passive coyote away after about 40 minutes, after a curious crowd had gathered outside.

--
Now, that's one awesome canine - just saunters in off the street, cool as you please, and sits himself down in a cooler. He is the epitome of the Baxter-ism. I hope mum lets me meet him. (mum inserts: not a chance. he'd probably eat you.)

I luv drive thu

Occasionally, mum takes me cruising and we'll go through the drive through. Drive thrus are great fun for barking at people and scaring the workers at the drive thru. They think I am FIERCE and its nice to be appreciated for the tuff dawg I am.

Then there's the added benefit of people watching. When I bark, they look my way. But the best fun is at Taco Bell.

There is a cashier at Taco Bell who LOVES the B-Dawg. And "of course!" you're thinking, I know. But she loves me so much, she likes to sneak me food, like chicken or chips. This last time, I got a WHOLE BOWL of yummy. Check it out.

Yeah, I'm diggin' the Taco Bell Drive Thru. But don't worry, she hands everything to Mum first so she doesn't get Baxter germs on her hands. Some people have issues with dawg germs. They are too uptight, if you ask me and will probably die of a heart attack, but then again, some of my canine friends like to stick there tounges in some pretty gross places so I can see why if you didn't know ME you'd make some assumptions.

another cute horse show photo

Again - being held back from my mum because she's all dressed in white.

as if B-dawg dirty foot prints weren't lucky. harumph.

Monthly Fan Club Meeting.

(Mum inserts: Blogger was being a total pain about uploading pictures, so this is a week late. Sorry)

This weekend saw the return of Prez Laura, and cousin Em-me to Casa Baxter. And even Cousin Jor-jor got in on the action the last night. She is so silly.

It was AWESOME. I got to pee on everyone - its very important you know, to mark my territory. Mum thinks it was because I got excited, but that's just my cover story. I dont' like to share my fan clubs, you know. Even with Tinker and Malley cats.

And Prez Laura, we love her so much - she fed us raw egg. And bacon. And I pooted ALL weekend long. It was FUN! Here I am, because she is MY Prez Laura, staking my claim on her. I will not share. Except with the her pups, whom I will convert to the school of Baxter is the best Dog in May.

No pics of Emme this time - she was camera shy with the b-dawg.

It was great fun. I loved it.

Horse Showin'

This weekend, I got to play at mum's horse show.

Good Things:
I get out of my crate all day
I get to see Mum almost all day
I get to be adored by my fans at the show grounds
I get to beg for chips, french fries, and other yummy snacks.
All the fabulous smells at the show
All the horse poop I can eat when mum doesn't see me.
I get carried when I'm tired.

Bad Things:
Mum won't let me jump on her or sit on her lap when she's dressed fancy
Mum disappears for times with Rico
I have to stay with other people even though I can see my Mum RIGHT THERE and I NEED TO BE WITH HER.
Mum takes a crate to the show.
People threaten to kill me when I'm in my crate, crying.

It was fun! We're doing it again in April with Nana, Grandpa, and Jorjor. That is TOTALLY going to rock.

Here I am, with a fan club member, watching mum ride Rico. We have to be quiet here.

When there's lots of horses, or I'm tired, Mum will carry me. Its great.

I got to meet all SORTS of friends. This guy LOVED me.

I also showed off some of my tricks, like sit, and laydown. I got all sorts of applause.

But at the end of the day, its Mums who are the best ever.

PSA from B-dawg

This is story that is important to my hommies everywhere.
I am quoting:

"A sugar substitute found in a variety of sugar-free and dietetic cookies, mints and chewing gum is proving highly toxic, even fatal, to snack-snatching dogs.
Xylitol, popular in Europe for decades but a relative newcomer to the U.S. alternative-sweeteners market, can be "very, very serious" to dogs when ingested,"

"Right now, xylitol is used mostly in cookies, candies, cupcakes and other sweets developed for people who have diabetes. It's also sold in bags of crystals for baking. Because of its bacteria-killing properties, it is put into some oral care products, including Tom's All Natural and Biotene toothpastes.

It also is beginning to be used in a broad assortment of products intended for the general public. Among them: Jello sugar-free puddings and a wide variety of sugar-free gums, including Trident, Orbit, Stride, Icebreakers and Altoids."

Weekend stories coming soon.

SAVE ME!!

I'm at the Veternary for the day. Mum decided she was done trying to wrestle me into submission (ha! B-dawgs will never submit!) to clip my toes.

So I'm here, held captive by people who smell funny and carry around needles.

This is not good. Who knows what they might do to the poor defenseless B-dawg? Baxters weren't meant for this. All I can say is they better be careful. I might have to teach them a lesson or three.

And Mum is in SO much trouble when she gets back. She better hide her shoes, is all I'm sayin'.

my new squeaky...

mum got me this before my adventures in shoe destruction.

its a great squeaky toy AND pillow.

I hear that Prez Laura is going to bust me out of San Quentin on friday. Most Excellent! That right there is a TRUE Fan Club Prezident.
Later, homies!

I'm in the dawg house...

I chewed up a pair of mum's new shoes this weekend. She was not pleased AT ALL. I told it was just the back loopy things and they were still wearable, but this appears to have been a final straw.

This brings the total pairs of shoes that I have maimed to:
at least SEVEN pairs.

And I am non discriminate to style. I've done hiking boots, water proof shoes, I particularly like mum's Ariat shoes to gnaw on - and let me tell you, those are worth every penny - mum says they cost lots! And boy are they good!!!

Then there are three pairs of dress shoes - complete from strappy sandles to grandma pumps.

Her closet is like a B-dawg chew toy buffet. Between her underwear and her shoes, I could just live in the closet all day while she's at work. Unfortunately, she disagrees and I have to chill in the super crates.

I keep telling her I am part of her behavior modification program to pick up her shoes and close the closet door. She does not appreciate it. At all.

silly mum.

Malley Cat bugs me

He thinks he's so smart. I just want to play, but he's all annoyed and stuff. Check this out - pompous puss.

A little update from B-dawg's Casa

Hey folks. Just a little update from my casa. Not much chilling from here - mum and I go to the barn to see Rico when its warm enough.

Today, mum came home early to go to the dentist and set me LOOSE on the Casa. I played. (and OK so I pooped in the house, but its her fault she was on a schedule.) Then she went to the barn WITH OUT ME. ARGH. Does she not realize there are my fans there, waiting to pay homage to the wonder that is the B-dawg? Poor things.

Anyway, when she got home we played ALOT.

And now I'm tired. Note the new blanket mum got from Food Lion - for 5 dollars. Its like B-dawg cammo.
Have a groovy Wednesday.

Mum is AWESOME with the crafty

She's making this scarf for Em-me. But I love it.

I think I'll hold it hostage!

Honk if you hate deers

On the way home from seeing Rico and chasing him while Mum was riding him, it was dark and scary and then Mum slowed down and did something she's never done with me in the car - she did something and the car made a NOISE! It was COOL. She said it was called the horn. And then she put the bright lights on and I saw IT -

A deer, complete with beady eyes and suicidal tendancies. So I barked and barked and barked and told it to stay the heck out of the way and away from me and my mum.

And mum kept using the horn thingy. It was cool.

Anyway, I'm sorta in trouble. Yesterday, while mum was in the shower I did something that made her mad. I can't be blamed if the stuff smelled interesting. Its my JOB to identify and if necessary taste these things. It was HER FAULT she left it out with out supervising me.

But mum said my punishment was to have the pictures of "the destruction" posted on my blog. As if that would make my fans love me any less. Ha.
But here they are:

Mum inserts: Yes, that's a Likamaid candy packet. I'm only allowed that stuff once every blue moon and I had left it on the coffee table. I THOUGHT it was safe, but apparently not. B-dawg had gotten better at being a destructo-dawg, but I guess I took too long in the shower. I love how he had to open EACH flavor and BOTH sticks. And spread it all over my ottoman. Lovely. Thank god for dirt devil dust busters.

Anyway, here I am, watching her put the "proof" on the internets. No, I am not happy. But Mum is quick to forgive, so I'm sure I'll be getting a peice of her pizza crust before its much later. hee hee.
